Tesla Chairman Robyn Denholm has strongly denied assertions about the company's board in search for a new CEO of Tesla successor Elon Musk, saying that the report from The Wall Street Journal "absolutely false". Denholm said "The board is highly confident in Elon's ability to continue executing on the exciting growth plan ahead."

Elon Musk responded to the report, calling it the report a "deliberately false article". On Twitter, Musk continued to state "It's a VERY bad breach of ethics that the WSJ will publish a DELIBERATELY false article and not include an unambiguous declaration of denial by the Tesla board of directors of directors!

In a different tweet Elon Musk has also tweeted: "WSJ is a discredit to journalism" in direct response to the news report.

The WSJ report, citing unnamed sources, reported that Tesla's board had met with various Tesla executive search firms to find a successor amid growing concerns about Musk's split interest between Tesla and his role as a government official under Trump. Donald Trump.

This report is released at a delicate time for Tesla. Tesla is currently facing an egregious 71% decline in its quarterly profit and declining sales in key markets, including California, Germany, and China. There are reports that concerns within the board intensified following the announcement that Musk was appointed as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) an office that was created by President Trump which is charged with directing the federal budget and enhancing productivity across federal departments.

In the past few times, Musk has spent significant time in Washington and has left Tesla employees and investors nervous. Even though he's on the Tesla share price, people inside the company aren't sure if Musk was in agreement with the succession plan, if indeed it was conducted.
